Q. I have very little experience of using a computer?
A. You don't need to have much computer knowledge to be able to use bideasi. bideasi is probably the easiest and simplest to use online auction website that there is. If some bideasi features are new to you then this FAQ section and the Help Menu should answer all your questions.

Q. How does the auction work on bideasi?
A. You set how long the auction will run. During the auction other members can place offer prices on your item. Unlike many auction websites, the lowest offer price on bideasi is likely to win the auction.

Q. Who wins the auction on bideasi?
A. It is likely that the person with the lowest offer price will win the auction. But unlike other auction websites the buyer can choose who they wish to buy from.

Q. Is this bad for sellers?
A. No, most items on bideasi have Guide Prices, which ensures that sellers get a fair price for their items. When a buyer starts the auction they must set a Starting Price, which must be reasonably close to the Guide Price. Sellers can then place an offer price, which is likely to be above the Starting Price and possibly above the Guide Price. If more Sellers join the bidding, the price is likely to decrease, but is unlikely to fall below the Starting Price. So, Sellers know the amount what they can least expect to make from selling their item.

Q. What is a guide price?
A. A guide price is a price given to an item that bideasi believes to be a fair price for the item. Guide prices of items can be submitted by bideasi members along with a website address that advertises the exact same item, condition and price. bideasi will review the submitted guide price and may amend the current guide price of the item. Guide prices are not relevant for Used items because there is no way of accurately defining the exact condition of the item and so a true guide price representative of the item cannot be made.

Q. Why have a guide price?
A. Buyers must set a starting price of an item close to the guide price, this ensures that buyers set realistic starting prices for their buy items. Setting unrealistic starting prices may result in the buyer receiving a strike on their account. Members can be removed temporarily or permanently for receiving 3 strikes.

Q. Who sets the Guide Prices?
A. A combination of bideasi members and bideasi staff. bideasi members can provide Guide Prices when they add new items to our catalogue. bideasi members can also 'Report Incorrect Guide Prices' and provide proof of what the Guide Price should be, such as a link to a website address that shows the correct Guide Price.

Q. I reported an incorrect guide price, but the guide price did not change. Why?
A. bideasi reserves the right to have sole discretion if a Guide Price is increased or decreased. bideasi's decision is final and cannot be appealed against and nor should the decision require justification.

Q. What is a buy item?
A. A buy item is an item that a buyer wants and so has placed a kind of auction our website which acts in reverse of a normal auction in that the price starts high and may decrease if more sellers compete for the business.

Q. I had the lowest bid, but didn't win. Why?
A. Unlike other auctions where the highest or lowest bidder wins the auction, bideasi allows the buyer to choose the winner. The likelihood is that the lowest bidder will win the auction, but the buyer is not forced to accept any offer.

Q. How much does it cost me to start an auction?
A. It doesn't cost the Buyer anything to create a buy item and start an auction.

Q. What happens if no-one wins the auction?
A. If no-one wins the auction the Buyer can re-list the exact same buy item auction, or can re-list the auction and then revise the Starting Price and / or the Quantity of items required.

Q. What is the bideasi catalogue?
A. This contains all the items on bideasi that members can place new buy item auctions. Any member can add new items to the bideasi catalogue. bideasi may decide on occasions  to remove some items that are unsuitable for various reasons. Members can also Report Items that they feel are unsuitable to be shown.

Q. Who adds items to the catalogue?
A. Any member and / or bideasi staff can add new items to the catalogue. Members can add an item in the 'Add New Item' 'Add New Items And Categories' sections, or by using 'Bulk Upload'.

Q. Can I re-list a buy item?
A. It is easy to re-list a buy item. After signing in just click on Buy and then on 'Re-List Buy Items'. Remember you need to re-list your item quite quickly after the auction has eneded.

Q. How many times can a buy item be re-listed?
A. A buy item can be re-listed as many times as a buyer wants.

Q. What is Bulk Upload for?
A. If you have many items that you would like to add to the bideasi catalogue the 'Bulk Upload' is the best and quickest way to add your items. You can enter multiple items into an Excel spreadsheet and upload all your images in bulk, then submit your spreadsheet to bideasi. Your spreadsheet content will be reviewed to ensure suitability before your items are added to our online catalogue.

Q. What is a Bideasi Sellers Contract?
A. For a fixed monthly amount the Seller can receive inquiries from prospective buyers for any items listed in the bideasi catalogue. The Seller will not be charged any additional fees for selling any of their items.
This is particularly cost-effective for members that intend to sell many High Price items on bideasi, such as estate agents or car dealers etc.

Q. What is considered as a High Price item and what does it mean?
A. A High Price item is an item that is valued over £ 1,000.
Some items, such as houses or sale of a business, require legal contracts to be signed; other expensive items may be better placed as a High Price Non Binding Item because the fee structure is more attractive than that of a normal buy item auction. Please have a look at our fees

Q. How do Sellers search for buy items?
A. Sellers can search for any buy item auctions they may be interested by using the 'Search For Buy Items' and 'Advanced Buy Item Search' sections. Both sections are quite similar in how the Seller conducts a search; the latter allows the Seller to specify additional searching criteria, such as 'When Buy Item Auction Started', 'Price Range' and 'Country' that the buy item auction was created in.

Q. Can I be notified when a Buyer places a buy item on bideasi?
A. The 'Keyword Search' section allows the Seller to enter up to 20 words or phrases and whenever a new buy item auction is created that contains any of the keywords or keyphrases the Seller is sent a notification email.
The 'Add New Items And Categories' section provides another way of notifying Sellers of buy item auctions that they would like to sell items in. This is done by the Seller specifying categories that they are interested selling in and when a new buy item auction is created in these categories an email is sent to the Seller. The Seller can limit how many emails they receive per month.

Q. Why can I not see when any auction is going to end?
A. bideasi does not show members when an auction will end, only the buyer who placed the auction will know. The reason for this is to encourage sellers to place their bids immediately rather than the common problem on most auction sites of waiting to the very end before bids are placed. Last minute bidding means that the buyer has to wait for several days before they are able to purchase their item usually at the same price. bideasi helps the Buyer, because they are able to get their purchases earlier. It helps the Seller, because they are able to turn around their stock faster.

Q. What happens if a Buyer never buys anything?
A. If a Buyer repeatedly places buy item auctions on bideasi, receives offer prices at or close to the Required Price set by the Buyer, but never accepts to purchase any of the Sellers items, the Buyer may be considered as a bogus Buyer by bideasi and may have their bideasi membership temporarily or permanently removed.

Q. What happens if a Seller refuses to sell an item?
A. Once a Seller has agreed an offer price they are bound to provide the item to the Buyer at the agreed price if the Buyer accepts the offer. Refusal to supply the item to the Buyer may result in the Seller's bideasi membership being temporarily or permanently removed.

Q. Why are no more than 3 offer prices ever shown for any buy item auction?
A. This gives the option to the Buyer to choose which offer price to accept. The Buyer may prefer to accept the Seller with the best Feedback Rating if they are not concerned on price, or that the difference between the offer prices is so small that the Feedback Rating becomes more important. Regardless of how many offers are made only the lowest 3 offers will be shown. If less than 3 offers have been made then less than 3 offers will be shown.

Q. Why can I not just type my password when I log in?
A. If you are unfortunate to receive a virus on your computer, some viruses are particularly nasty and they can steal your password as you type the password. So, to ensure that bideasi remains as secure as possible we ask you to identify 2 randomly chosen characters from your password. If you do not pass this security after the third attempt your account will be temporarily frozen. This makes it extremely difficult to steal any bideasi members' password.

Q. Why will bideasi remain an unique website?
A. bideasi was launched on ITV television in 2007 to an audience of millions. By quickly reaching such a large audience, the bideasi concept, which is unique on the internet, has gained a type of copyright protection known as trademark protection. This means that the bideasi concept will remain unique to bideasi by being legally protected. So, bideasi members can be assured that the bideasi website will continue to provide the worlds best online auction experience.
